Respect for Spiders Stamp. by VampsStock Respect for Spiders Stamp. by VampsStock
I was unhappy with the old version, so I decided to redo this stamp. I want to get around to doing the other two as well, since they're a bit outdated. Here's the old version, just for comparison sta.sh/02261kr2c8dd

A companion to my 'Respect for Birds' fav.me/d38ndmj and 'Respect for Snakes' fav.me/d3aq6o9 stamps. I hate how people bash spiders because they're afraid of them, or because spiders can, on rare occasion, kill people. You know what? The diseases carried by mosquitoes are far more deadly than a little spider bite and spiders eat mosquitoes. Fear is no excuse for cruelty. Yes, you can use this, you don't have to ask.

I'd squash one, but I wouldn't want it to suffer too long and try to get them in one shot. Funny thing is, I didn't mind spiders until I was about six years old and had even begged my parents to buy me a tarantula at the pet store. I'm not exactly sure what happened.

I just don't like the idea of something crawling on me (you don't know where it's been, anyway :bleh:) or getting something if they bite me.

Bugs also get squashed accidentally in daily activities.

I don't like most bugs, but I don't mind butterflies or grasshoppers. I used to freak out over flies, too, but I realized that you can't do much about 'em.

And yeah, even "cute, cuddly"-looking animals can be harmful. Anything with teeth can bite if it's pissy and it's scares me when that happens. At least with larger animals, it's easy to tell where they are.

I'm fine with spiders.

Maybe it's because when I was little I had a massive poisonous arachnid on the ceiling above me and I kept pointing nd saying 'look mummy/daddy it's a daddy longlegs!!!'

...

I was an idiot. *facepalm*

Hey, I try by best to respect the little guys.. But when you find one on you while you awake from sleep. I'm sorry..I flip out and they usually end up squashed,

But If they don't surprise me like that, Yeah,  I give them there space.. or put them in a jar, and let them back outside. They deserve a chance at life too. :)

I want to not be afraid of them,  but whenever I try, I always end up screaming and freaking out in the end... I guess it can't be helped. I don't even know what it is that makes me dislike them so much. Maybe it's because they're kinda creepy...

It's a good thing that you have respect for an animal you also fear ;) Many people simply hate the creatures they fear.

I love spiders! ^^ I have two living outside on my house! I can't tell what they are actually. I suspect they maybe just a type of house spider but I've never seen one with orange legs with black stripes around the legs!  I find them actually quite adorable!^^

Yeah spiders serve to control the insect population so that there is never a huge abundance of insects.

Plus they are fun to play with even the venomous ones like black widows are fun to play with if you know what you're doing

I love all kinds of spiders uwu There are some which I treat with caution, the ones which I can't identify or know are poisonous, but I never kill them for being even potentially dangerous. I'll happily handle any spider which I know is harmless (a full grown huntsman spider is the largest I've held so far :'D) and the ones which do pose a risk to me or the pets I catch and put outside. Every room in my house has at least one resident harvestman in a corner of the ceiling and they control flies very well. Some of the larger spiders I'll take outside.

If a large spider, particularly one which I recognize as dangerous, appears out from nowhere, I will 'squeak' (:XD:) and maybe jump back, but I don't try to kill the creature. Fear keeps us safe after all, and I'd rather be 'scared' of a spider than risk being bitten by the rather aggressive whitetails living around here.

If I do kill a spider, it's usually for a reason, such as approaching one of my pet rats too fast for me to react in any other way, is about to actively harm another pet or there's no other way to get it out of the house. I always try to kill them as fast as possible via a crushing blow or something and I rage at my father whenever he sprays one with fly spray. Just seeing the innocent thing stumbling around for ten minutes just upsets me so much and I usually take it outside and kill it there to end its suffering.

I absolutely hate videos on youtube of people killing spiders or something like that. I saw a particularly sick one of a bunch of guys burning a house spider to death with a laser - that took about four minutes, and it was being laughed at the whole time. If someone did that to a cat, dog, horse or any other popular furry animal, they, at the very least, would have to pay a fine for cruelty.

I have personally raised about four thousand spiders (several hundred came from one ridiculously productive female, and a couple thousand came from a few flower spiders I'd caught and they hatched out ALL OVER MY ROOM and took me THREE HOURS to get them all back XD) and my oldest spider is a common house spider, at five years and still going strong.
